Meredith Stenberg

"Ars Longa, Vita Brevis"! This has been a driving statement for Virginia-based mixed media artist Meredith Stenberg. Making the most of her time creatively outside of her normal teaching schedule is key to maintaining artistic continuity. Meredith’s work is influenced by the flora and fauna of the Texas hill country in combination with the bright colors and symbols that define the southwest region. She depicts her subjects in realistic form, while also rendering them in a stylistic display with a nod to the Tex-Mex flavor of color and exuberance. Whether working in acrylic, oil, clay or printmaking, her artwork embodies inspiration from nature with written expression of poetry and prose sprinkled throughout. Meredith’s art has been sponsored by the MSV and CNB Bank for her work featured in ArtScape 14 and 15 in downtown Winchester; as well as being featured in Art in the Halls at the MSV and in ShenArts Fest in Winchester. Indeed, there is no time to waste, for "Art is long, life is short"!
