Maria Fiorella is a Venezuelan-American artist with a passion for creating happy, colorful oil paintings, particularly still lifes and pets. Her earliest memories revolve around her love of coloring books and Prismacolor pencils, the bigger the set the better. Between ages 12-17 she received a formal atelier oil painting education in Caracas, Venezuela. At age 18, she put aside painting to attend university, begin a career in computer science and later a second career in real estate investments. Marriage, two children and life followed in the intervening 30+ years, and now, as an empty nester, Maria has reclaimed her passion for oil painting. She has a BS degree in Computer Science and an AA degree in Fine Arts. Maria lives in Northern Virginia with her husband Manuel and their standard poodle, Luka.
