From his studio located near the village of Orlean Virginia, John S. Corrao paints the ever-changing images of Virginia‘s Northern Piedmont. He is represented by BERKLEY GALLERY, Warrenton, Virginia and, MORIN GALLERY, Orange, Virginia. Other galleries in Northern Virginia were he has exhibited are: PRINCIPLE GALLERY, Alexandria, Virginia; BYRNE GALLERY, Middleburg, Virginia; RIVER DISTRICT ARTS, MIDDLE STREET GALLERY and LONGVIEW GALLERY, Sperryville; GALLERY 222, ROSE GALLERY and DISTRICT WEST FINE ART in Leesburg, THE BLUE PEACH in The Plains, Virginia; PERRY HOUSE GALLERY in Alexandria and FISHSCALE & MOUSETOOTH GALLERY in old town Manassas. He is a long time participant in the Virginia ART AT THE MILL SHOW held in the Burwell-Morgan Mill, Millwood and Art in the Foothills Show, Bluemont. John’s paintings have also been chosen for THE PIEDMONT VIRGINIAN MAGAZINE Artist Showcase Hosted by River District Arts, Sperryville, Virginia.

John’s paintings have been exhibited in several prominent Washington DC area galleries: TOUCHSTONE, GALLERY WEST and FRASER GALLERY where he participated in several Georgetown International exhibitions. He’s won many awards in regional and national art shows and his paintings reside in private, corporate and international collections. John’s dramatic painting of the Cape Hatteras lighthouse, titled, “Crown Jewel” and “Lighthouse Keeper’s View” were selected by the NATIONAL PARKS ACADEMY OF THE ARTS to be included in their ARTS FOR THE PARKS exhibition. Composed of the top 100 paintings selected from thousands submitted, this traveling exhibition was hung in several museums across the country. CONTINENTAL LIFE INSURANCE selected, “Crown Jewel” for inclusion in their nationally distributed calendar and GALISON BOOKS of New York City has reproduced this image on note cards. ART CALENDAR MAGAZINE (now Professional Artist Magazine) selected one of his paintings for a CRABBIE AWARD. In August 2015 John was selected from over 7,500 entries as a finalist in the Still Life category of THE ARTIST MAGAZINE 32nd Annual Art competition. i

His painting “Beet Brothers” 9x12 oil was also selected as a winner in THE ARTISTS MAGAZINE’S Over 60 Competition and was featured in the magazine’s March 2017 issue.

Founder/CEO/President of ACORN ASSOCIATES, Inc., a successful Advertising/Graphic Design Studio. He served as the company’s art director, illustrator, photographer, copywriter, and marketing director for over twenty years.
