Rebekah Keener

Rebekah J. Keener has been painting since she could hold a paintbrush. She attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC to major in art with a minor in Illustration. There she began to develop her characteristic style in acrylic painting, fantasy-saturated reality expressed through a gradation of layered colors. After a brief internship as a graphic designer and the destruction of her senior show pieces during Hurricane Floyd in 1999, she vowed to give up Art.

When Rebekah was introduced to the world of cat shows in 2000, she changed her mind. Suddenly, proud pet owners were commissioning paintings of their precious pets. In the almost 20 years since, she has been capturing the inner souls of treasured companions as no photograph can, while still indulging in fantasy painting as a “palette” cleanser.

Rebekah’s original, creative works have been featured in exhibitions in Virginia, New York, and North Carolina. The most recent exhibition was the "4 The Love of..." show at Creative Brush studio in Manassas, VA. . She also sells her paintings at local art fairs and pet shows. Rebekah also has an active social media presence. Find all her information at https://www.heylink.me/bekart
