Kennie Mauche

Kennie Mauche/Artist Bio        12/20/2023

Artist Statement:  Kennie paints to see, to connect, to slow down and share the beauty of the light that surrounds us all.

Kennie is a born and raised Marylander, at a time Rockville was considered a sleepy farm town.  A great spot for kids who loved being outside, roaming the land, splashing in the streams and being familiar with our four footed and winged neighbors.  Kennie is still doing the same with her Plein Air Painting practice in Southern Maryland and traveling the world.

Primary Medium - Oil Painting

Kennie was fortunate to have exposure to art with original paintings in the family home from a Mom, Aunt and family friends who practiced the visual arts and shared their work (observations/opinions) with each other.

Kennie graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree and worked in construction, starting a Soil and Erosion Control business in 1986 which allowed retirement in 2003 to begin working more diligently on the art career with great enthusiasm and energy.

Formal Art classes for the last 50 years including - art history, photography, drawing, pottery, interior design, intaglio printing, figure sculpting, pastels, watercolors, portraiture and mostly oil painting for the last 17 years.
