Brigid Corrigan

Brigid studied art and art history in college, graduating with a BA degree from the University of Maryland.  She often takes workshops with artists she admires to advance the quality of her paintings.  Most recent works are done in oil, but she has also worked with watercolor, pencil, and has produced some metal sculptures.  All subject matter is interesting if the composition, values and shapes are good.  Having spent so much time outside, most of it on the back of a horse in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties, she is drawn to the landscape of the Blue Ridge, although her current home on the Chesapeake Bay also affords great subject matter. Plein air paintings in the nicer months are often used to create larger studio pieces.  Landscape, figure, dogs and horses, as well as still life are common subjects for winter paintings.
