Richard Niewerth has been a working artist for 50+ years producing oil paintings which have been displayed regionally, nationally and internationally. Niewerth has painted in a number of genres from Plein air landscapes to urban landscapes to still life. Niewerth is the recipient of numerous awards through the years including Juror's Choice in a recent Maryland Federation of Art Exhibition, Annapolis, MD in the Fall of 2022. His works are viewed as well at Gallery 564, Severna Park, MD and Jo Fleming Contemporary, Annapolis, MD. In addition to his many solo and group exhibitions, his paintings are included in a number of permanent collections including Maryland State Senate Building, Towson State University, Delaware Museum of Art, Do Museu Nacional de Bella’s Artes and Do Museu de Arte Moderna, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
