Jeanne Marie Mcclure artists Bio
Jeanne Marie McClure is representational, multidisciplinary artist creating in watercolor, acrylics, collage, oil/cold wax, and polymer clay. Throughout her life she has alwaysbeen inquisitive about all modes of art expression. Since early childhood, she demonstrated creativity, curiosity, and explored ways to create art, however, it was never seen as a viable career path.
Jeanne Marie earned a BS in biology from University of Mary Washington and degree in Medical Technology from Medical College of Virginia. As a biologist and Medical Technologist, her career allowed her to see beauty in laboratory work under the microscope in colors, shapes and patterns of cells and microbes and the variety of colors in cultures, stains and chemical reactions. Since retiring, her pursuit of art has been allowed to flourish. She has sought and actively participated in class offerings, online tutorials, juried exhibits, and gallery shows. Her work has been shown in exhibits at Berkeley Art Works, Jefferson Arts Council’smember shows and their Spotlight Gallery and Art at the Mill.  Her painting “17 Years to Light” won a merit award in the Annual Eastern West Virginia Exhibit 2021 juried exhibition sponsored by Berkeley Arts Council in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She was an active participant in the Art Expo at the Martinsburg Roundhouse in the fall of 2022, teaching a workshop “Don’tbe afraid of Water Color”.  She continues to teach a variety of workshops and classes at Berkeley Art Works, thereby enhancing students’ understanding, skills, knowledge and creativity through these lessons.Jeanne Marie has also participated in many local Arts and Crafts events with her wearable art creations in polymer clay. She shares art experiences with other likeminded artists in The Creative Arts Gorup, Sisters in Art, and Soul Collage gatherings.
She continues to learn, share and create art at her home in Berkeley County, West Virginia.
