Janet Gustafson, co-owner of Gustafson Glass, LLC moved to Middletown VA from Ohio 4 years ago to be close to family. Twenty years ago she went to the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts in Young Harris, Georgia with two teacher friends and took her first glass class. She came home totally hooked on working with glass and along with her husband started on a journey that took them across the country to attend glass classes with some of the big names in the industry - Patty Gray, Lisa Vogt, Bonnie Proudfoot, Brad Walker and others. Vacations were usually a glass class instead of sitting on a beach! She and her husband attended classes at Hollander Glass in Houston, Bullseye Glass in Portland, Oregon, Delphi Glass in Lansing, Michigan, the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, Warm Glass in Clemmons, North Carolina and Hocking College in Ohio. She created functional pieces and decorative items that have been sent all over the world.
Her work, along with her husband’s can be found in many shops, museums and galleries in Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia.
She is proud to be a juried artist for the past several years in the Art at the Mill Shows at Burwell-Morgan Mill in Millwood, Virginia.
