BJ Dickhute

In 2023, BJ attended the Scottsdale School of Art and a class in Los Angeles.  After returning from this cross-country trip, stopping at many of America's National Parks, it left a lasting impression and an inspiration for paintings yet to be.

BJ attended the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, Australia, the oldest art school in Australia, where she followed her creative pursuits setting a course for her study in watercolor. Enjoying the completely absorbing, meditative quality of botanical painting as well as the detail required for realistic wildlife and landscapes; watercolor has become an antidote for the busy, noisy world in which we live; nourishing the soul.

While enjoying the versatility of watercolor BJ continues to work and teach in all mediums: graphite, oil, acrylics, pastel, watercolor pencil and colored pencil. BJ works and teaches from her studio located between the beautiful, majestic Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah Valley Virginia.
