Lynn Martin is a Northern Virginia artist whose work is typically inspired by nature, travel, and everyday life. She strives to observe and communicate nuances of gesture, mood, sentiment, and in her birds, animals and figures, often becoming engaged with a real or imagined personality of each. She works in watercolor, acrylics, inks, pastel and other media, often combining those she feels adds to the subject or her intentions for the piece. Lynn has also done botanical and scientific illustration for technical and other publications. She currently shows her work at the Loft Gallery in Occoquan, VA, and is a member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists, the Virginia Watercolor Society, and the Springfield Art Guild. She enjoys introducing beginning artists to sketching and painting.
