Susan Fay set aside her interest in art for many years because of the demands of her career as a college teacher, She picked up a brush again about 20 years ago and studied under Virginia artist John Young, who during his life as an artist was heavily involved in Art at the Mill exhibits, Susan works in oil and acrylic in a variety of genres, especially landscape and portrait. She also enjoys the challenge of copying the masters, and has recently discovered the joys of painting nebula - concentrations of light and form, inspirational blends of realism and abstraction. She is a currently on the board of the Springfield Art Guild and a member of the League of Reston Artists, and has exhibited in shows through both organizations.
