dee dee Volinsky

dee dee Volinsky is a professional artist who works out of her studio on the downtown Mall in Winchester, Virginia as well as plein air. She has been an artist for 27 years.

dee dee works mostly in oils but also paints with acrylics, watercolors, and gouache. Her artwork can be found at Hip and Humble in Berryville, Beckon Home in Richmond, and The Urban Farmhouse in Alexandria as well as on Instagram @deedeevolinsky. Her artwork has been featured on the banners on the Downtown Walking Mall in Winchester for several years. Her art has been included in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, both in their rotating and permanent collections and many private art collections. She has been accepted to many regional juried art shows as well as in Gloucester and Richmond art shows.

Though mostly self taught, dee dee has been fortunate to learn from many PAFA contemporary masters including Stanley Bielen, Jon Redmond, Stuart Shills, David Shevlino and most recently extensive, prolonged study with Claudia Rilling. In her artwork, there is a clear picture of simplified shapes infused with color and little detail. The result is a painting that captures attention while leaving the fussiness.
