Biography – Suzan Macy, Artist
A celebrated art major at Syracuse University Suzan became the first New York City woman Advertising Art Director, garnering numerous awards in print and TV.
She interrupted her successful career to concentrate on marriage and children, after which she formed her own successful Ad Agency in Westport CT, simultaneously directing any spare minute towards her first love oil-painting and watercolors. Having enjoyed watching her children venture out onto their own and finally retired from business Suzan was finally happily at liberty to be able to embark on painting full-time. She gravitates towards color and lots of it, looking to nature to challenge, inspire, and stoke her imagination.
Although quickly recognized as an artist to admire, it was initially friends, family and charitable organizations who benefited from her sought-after works. Suzan has won numerous best in show, having exhibited primarily in Connecticut and New Hampshire, and is now successfully selling in the Virginia art scene as well.
