Tax preparer by day and artist by night and weekend I have always needed to use both sides of my brain. After several years of decorative painting and time off from painting pursuing other crafts I have come back to develop my own style using brilliant colors and exploring mixed media techniques combining texture and whimsy being mostly inspired by nature and color. The pandemic provided a lot of artists with more time on their hands to paint, however I was working harder last year as a tax preparer so inspiration was in short supply. But eventually I got back into painting working on projects I had started and gave up on halfway through. Moving on I am now exploring more mixed media working with painted papers and collage and am happy to submit my latest painting of sunflowers which has become even more timely with the war in Ukraine.
